National Donut Day has to be one of my daughter’s favorite holidays, ranks up there with Christmas and birthdays, not too close, but it’s right up there. Krispy Kreme is celebrating the day and their 75th anniversary by giving every customer a donut of any variety for FREE, no purchase necessary. Pretty cool, eh?
Dunkin Donuts has a similar offer, except you’ll need to purchase a beverage in order to get the free donut.
And if you really want to go all in celebrating, visit Entenmann’s Bakery Facebook page. They will donate $1 for every “like” to the Salvation Army. One lucky winner will get free donuts for a year. Yum! Just make sure you have a exercise plan to go along with the daily dose of donuts.
In case you care, National Donut Day was created by the Salvation Army in 1938. It was a way to honor The Salvation Army’s “Donut Lassies” who served these treats to soldiers during World War I.
