Does your family love to dance together at parties, special events or just in your living room? Is Dad a big ham or maybe he has some surprising old breakdancing moves? Did Mom take dance lessons as a kid and now the kids do too? Have a special story of why your family dances together?

Summerdale Productions, Inc. is searching for families who love to dance together for FAMILY DANCE OFF, a new primetime dance competition show for ABC.  Families will be chosen to perform their routine on a Hollywood stage for a chance to win a cash prize.

They’re casting super-fun families with BIG personalities to submit their original choreographed, dance routines at least two (2) minutes long from all genres such as: hip hop, pop, jazz, modern, ballroom, Latin, country, and anything funny! If this sounds like you, go here to apply.

Check out the REDCAT International Children’s Film Festival. They have some pretty sweet films. It features more than 90 animated and live action shorts from over 30 countries from May 4 – 19.  Screenings will take place on Saturday and Sundays at the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater.Tickets are only $5. 

I don’t think there are any PG new releases currently playing in the theaters, so this is great alternative programming.

We will bring a ton of books (a little spring cleaning to boot!).

Girl Scout Troop 13825 is holding a book swap for their service project on Energy Efficiency on Sat. May 11 from 2pm-4pm at the Westchester Townhouse located at 8501 Emerson Ave., L.A., CA, 90045.

All kids can can come and bring books for K-8th graders they want to trade, get raffle tickets for the number of books they bring, and then “spend” their tickets for other books they’d like to take home.

This is a one time event. Any books left over will be donating to a charity.
